STUDENTS´ DAY (May 23rd)

This day is commemorated in Mexico as Student´s Day; the origin of this story goes back to 1929 when a group of college students of the UNAM protested, in the Santo Domingo square,  in favor of the university autonomy on May 23rd.

Because of this, a month later, they gained their autonomy and declared that this day would be remembered as the “Students day” and should be celebrated throughout the whole country.
